Q & A with Thomas Mathmann

Thomas Mathmann, 33 years old from Everswinkel in Germany. Thomas is the driver and owner of the Deutz-Allis Component Super Stock called ,,Dschinni Evolution´´. He also won the German Championship title in the Super Stock division from 2011-2015.

pullingworld.com: What are you doing in your normal life?
Thomas Mathmann: I am working on a lathe and a milling machine in a machine shop for separating machines.

pullingworld.com: What do you like to do in your free time, except Tractor Pulling?
Thomas Mathmann: When there is free time near the Tractor, i try to meet friends, try to take time for my girlfriend and hopefully one day i find time to finish my Oldtimer Car.....😍
But during Pulling season mostly the Deutz destroys my plans...

pullingworld.com: What do you like about Tractor Pulling?
Thomas Mathmann: At first the technical things, to find a solution to produce difficult parts mostly on non CNC lathe or mills, to build my or our ideas near the cookie cutter parts most other Teams buy or use...
And for sure the friendship in the sport between many teems over Europe....

pullingworld.com: What was your first Tractor Pulling event?
Thomas Mathmann: Ohh i am not sure, but i think Füchtorf (D) in the late 80's, or very early 90's.

pullingworld.com: What is your favourite Event / Pulling track?
Thomas Mathmann: For sure Füchtorf (D) !
Great event and my home pull !!

pullingworld.com: When and where do you have driven a Pulling Tractor for the first time?
Thomas Mathmann: I started with Garden Pulling on the first Garden Pulling event 1998 in Füchtorf (D).
My first start with our old Dschinni was 2001 in Weseke (D), when i was 16 years young.

pullingworld.com: What was your biggest success?
Thomas Mathmann: For sure the "victory" in Hassmoor (D) 2015 😎
Never forget this event!!

pullingworld.com: Which Pulling classes do you like too?
Thomas Mathmann: For sure Pro Stock and 2.5t Light Modified.
Or all Tractors where individualists are screwing and working!

pullingworld.com: What was your biggest disappointment?
Thomas Mathmann: Oh there is not only one.....
Maybe EC in Brande (DK) 2015 was very bad in all points from our view and for sure Edewecht last year....worked hard the half season to get it running again.....Friday evening first noice Saturday evening last noice.....

pullingworld.com: Which things must be changed in the future of the Tractor Pulling sport?
Thomas Mathmann: I think we must be find solutions to get the sport cheaper because when i look in Germany, Teams in Super Stock, Pro Stock and Modified were only a few, there have been much more in the past....so its all too expensive....but people like me look to the top Teams and than....shit happens we try to catch them all the time, so I do it wrong by my self....🙈

pullingworld.com: What are your plans for the future in Tractor Pulling?
Thomas Mathmann: Bring the Deutz back on track in 2018 and hope to keep it in good condition for a complete season. And for sure to have a big success on European circuit one day!

pullingworld.com: What was for you the most important moment in the sport?
Thomas Mathmann: After Füchtorf (D) this year!
Engine broken. And to see how many fans we have and going to help us to see "their Tractor" again! 👌

pullingworld.com: What was your favourite Pulling Tractor project in the workshop during a winter?
Thomas Mathmann: To build the quattro turbo kit winter 16/17.
Had an idea in my head, and build it from exhaust system to complete modified chargers all by my self.
And than too see how amazing it works! 😎

pullingworld.com: Something you want to say?
Thomas Mathmann: I hope we all can make this great sport for a long time,
And have more individualists to come in the future, especially here in Germany to have more and better competition!

pullingworld.com: Thank you for your time and good luck this year !
